BFF

The more time i have the more time i spend with technology. Which is usually at least 3 hours everyday . "I love it." I use it for just about anything. Most of the time I am using more than one device at a time. I think it would be beneficial to our health to cut back on the use of technology. It decreases the amount of time we are spending being physically active. I know if I tried I could cut back. But technology makes everything more efficient.

I carry my phone with me where ever I go. That way people can always get in touch with me. I feel safe knowing I have it in case of an emergency. Its one of the main ways I communicate with people. Sometimes talking on my phone for hours while sitting on the computer.

A lot of my time goes into watching movies. Allowing my mind to wandering in a film clears my head. It provides real life circumstances people can relate too.

I have adapted to my way of life using technology.

time well spent?

It was weird watching my own video. I never pictured myself from that point of view. With the idea of relaying on technology in my head I could still become so engaged in the computer. To the point I even forgot about the video. It seems as though I am in my own world. I was not showing a lot of emotion although I thought I was in what I was typing on the screen.

As much as I don’t want to believe I depend on technology I know I do. Myself in this video was pretty predictable. It’s sad to think about the time I could be spending enjoying the outdoors. But technology is an everyday part of my life. Without life would be a whole lot more challenging, it is scary to imagine.

Already my little sister spends more time using “this stuff” than I do. Its unfortunate, I hate to think she was influenced by me. It makes me think about the influence we are giving to other generations?

Digital devices like the Wii incorporate some physical activity. While it gets you moving, it does require some strategy and thinking. On the other hand, there is no interaction with other people. It creates a simulation of reality. Which does not involve real interaction. The contrast between the actual world and a reflection of the world in a game are two separate different things.

the voice of strangers

A older man expresses his feelings about the digital world. - I used it a lot less when I was little. Everything I such more advanced now. It is a bigger part of our lives. People are evolving and adapting to this new way of life. It has come to a point where we only longer have the skills to survive without technology in our lives. We would be challenged with the simplest tasks.

Interesting comments from an interesting guy walking without any digital devices.-There is more and more tech driven communication. It takes away from the amount of attention we our giving to our lives. We are always multi tasking in some way or another. It changed me to see a girl get hit by a car while crossing the street because she was so wrapped up in texting. It struck me as a wake up call and now I find myself trying to be more aware.

A young guy who works with computer programming shares his thoughts about technology. - For both work and personal I am spending about 8 hours in front of the computer everyday. It is not ideal, but not a problem. It makes everything about my day more productive. It is a big help knowing about the things I can do with technology. I can say I dependant on it. But we are not completely dependent on digital devices. It will never come to the point where we can’t break free. Without technology we would just be living according to our natural instinct.

A happy couple finishes each other’s thoughts when connecting to our digital world. - We came from a meeting where everyone had to turn their phones off for a full hour and a half. I can admit I was inching to my phone almost the entire time. I felt disconnected and wondered what I possibly could be missing. Everyone always expects to be able to contact people through their phones. Everyone has a certain urgency when using technology. Weather its getting the right information or contacting someone. It is all moving at such a fast pace.

we have technology we like technology

“I have a black berry. I like my black berry” was the first response I got. I noticed how there was a feeling given to the phone as apposed to the people it was used to contact. There was more said there than it seems. Although then I searched for a second opinion. From a person who using technology daily but spends time a good amount of their day without it. Unsatisfied and opinionated about the digital world they purposed two counter arguments.

A phone is a simple tool that can be carried with us anywhere we go. It is useful to have instant access to communicate with family, friends who are miles away. Weather we are enjoying a nice walk in the park, or maybe on a boat out at sea it is easy to get in contact. Not only with our phones but also with the Internet or TV we are giving the ability to become more globally aware. We have such an easy way to information. Knowing current events around the world allows the influence of other cultures.

As simple as it all might be, technology does take away from our lives. There is less of face-to-face communication. There is a loss of touching and understanding between people. In addition to a loss in our own inner thinking. With technology it is easy to take a picture or snapshot of something. But we leave being able to create our own description of it. We lose our voice and creativity.

The first response was not very thoughtful. However it did help prove the standard point that we all rely on technology. The second response went into depth. It was not a standard response and had many valuable arguments.

HW3 electronic world

Its hard to imagine todays world without any technology.  so many rely on technology in their daily lives. i admit i am one of them. people depend on electronics on a daily basis. they depend on the internet as a way to get any information. cellphones are used anywhere and at anytime. making people never truly alone, and always having some form of contact.

the constant use of technology  leads people to become less physically active. we are always looking for ways to make it easier  and more time efficient on ourselves. i know that happens to me. instead of going outside to play baseball you can just pick up a wii.

people spend a massive amount of time using electronics. it is used as a way to communicate.  i depend on technology everyday in order to communicate with people. this blog for instance. it is more comfortable to express feelings to something that wont have a reaction. writing to a computer instead of talking to a person directly is what people find helpful.
